I just love when you guys send things my way that can put wind in our equipping-kid sails. So here are two things.

The first is a Today Show segment featuring psychologist Madelyn Levine opining on a subject near and dear to our hearts … moving away from helicopter parenting. I especially enjoyed hearing from the teens.

The second is an amazing and moving example of how much our kids are capable of doing. Check out this moving video message made by friends and classmates of Colin Stone, our friends’ child who died in a car accident almost a year ago. Amidst the staggering loss, this young man’s friends are taking tragedy and transforming it to opportunity. Opportunity to share a message that needs to be heard by many kids who think they’re invincible. It’s a beautiful thing. Show the video (Colin’s video below) driving-age kids.

I guess it’s a video kind of day. I hope they both offer inspiration.

Thanks for walking the road with me.
